This idea was the derivative of an IRC discussion, so pardon the lack of coherency. The search input box is the most recognizable visual element of search, so somehow show one (or a bunch of, attached to a globe perhaps, in a way that doesn't look like wikipedia) search input box+button that is maybe tilted at an angle so as to show some half-finished mechanical structure, and people if possible, driving/building it.

Hopefully someone can visualize *and* create something along those lines? Jer 21:38, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

New to your forum here and hope you don't mind I throw in an idea.

A ferret ferreting out the files and URL's of the world. A blackfooted ferret in this logo idea, in honor of the fact they are so rare and hard to find themselves.

But hmm, it looks a bit as if the glass is getting broken right at the moment I'm looking at it, and the glass splinters are flying away ;-) --rieke 21:55, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Another way of thinking about it is that the glass broken is symbolic of broken links; creating a new search engine that breaks from the traditional mold to create something new, so maybe breaking glass is not such a bad idea! Ashc 05:32, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
