Mini:Internet marketing

Internet marketing, sometimes referred to as "online marketing," is the use of the Internet to raise awareness of products, services, brands and and ideas.

The tools of Internet marketing differ from traditional marketing tools primarily in approach and execution. Traditional marketing consisted of advertising, events, contests, public relations and the like and all of these have counterparts on the Internet with their own particular character. One of the major components of Internet marketing, however, is search engine marketing, or SEO, which has no direct corollary in the pre-Internet world. Distant predecessors to the art of search marketing might be yellow pages advertising and outdoor display advertising. Search engine marketing consists of the various techniques used to make sure that consumers using search engines to find information and other content can also easily find the providers of products and services related to the object or objects of their searches.
