Ralph Nader, born February 27, 1934, in Winsted, Connecticut, is an American attorney, author, lecturer and political activist in the areas of consumer rights, humanitarianism, environmentalism and democratic government. Nader has long criticised large corporations for undermining American values of democracy and human rights. On February 24, 2008, he announced on NBC's "Meet The Press" that he is running for the presidency in 2008 as a thrid-party candidate. Nader also ran for President in 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004.
