Israel is a country in the Middle East on the southeastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. The capital is Jerusalem (edit). It has borders with Lebanon (edit), Syria (edit), Jordan (edit) and Egypt (edit). The West Bank and Gaza Strip, partially administrated by the Palestinian National Authority, are also adjacent.
