Hey --
Sorry, should have sent this before I rolled you back. I am working on the search team. We design a new skin for Search.Wikia. I made the change b/c we are going to roll out a new skin for Search.Wikia tomorrow and it uses the that Mediawiki:Sidebar to make a navigation box. Would you mind leaving it as I set it up? --Awrigh01 05:25, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] nrafal.pl
Sorry, why did you deleted my post about nrafal.pl ? Did you go to this site? Why do you think it is not true? I'm realli polish blogger and thi is really my blog :) Greetings
- Personal blogs are not relevant to the project, neither is this wiki a website directory. Consider using an open directory project instead for those kinds of things. --CharitwoTalk 09:31, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- ok, as you wish. I've just thought that search engines should search everything. Nrafal 09:34, 7 January 2008 (UTC)nrafal
[edit] mini-article deletion as spam
Hi...as an experiment I added a note to "portal GT" (which is a mud client, doesnt show up in search results), identified it as a mud client and added it's URL. You deleted it as "spam"...I'm not associated with portal GT at all nor do I even use it; why do you seem to be deleting everyone's contributions right off the bat? If the "mini-articles" arent for info on a specific search, what is it for? Mercster 09:54, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- This wiki is not a website directory. --CharitwoTalk 17:08, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Right, OK, I understand that you like to delete wikia mini-articles. Unfortunately you don't seem to be able to tell us why...? "This wiki is not a website directory"... yeah, that makes no sense to me bro; what is a search engine if not a (searchable) directory of websites? Is it possible for you to explain to new users the point of the mini-articles instead of offering one-word deletes? It's off putting and rude. I read the rules, and there isnt anything about pointing people to a relevant url, and the instructions say mini-articles are the best way to improve the search engine. It seems obvious to me that if a search for a specific software returns 0 relevant results, the mini-article containing and URL would be helpful... Mercster 11:56, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Turkey mini article

- oops, sorry :-) I did not see you actually deleted the main article.. --Fearlessdog 20:11, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Block User:67.159.44.138
Hi Charitwo, i saw you blocked the ip 67.159.44.138 for 1 year. Should we really block ip adresses for a long time? IP Adresses can change very quick(my provider gives me every day at 01:00 UTC+1 a new one). Maybe the IP 67.159.44.138 is given to a new possible contributor of the project and he/she dont know why he/she is blocked. Regards --Cy 08:33, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, look at his edit. The block is well warranted, he know what he did wrong. Bad faith all around. --Charitwo 11:21, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- The IP identifies him usually only for a short time. Here in Germany the ip is given new every day by the provider for the most private persons. I dont know, how this is handled in other countries. No matter if he had a bad faith, because he has surely a new ip now or in the next time. But the IP could be given to anyone else. Because of that, I think it is better, if we block ips, then only for 1-3 weeks. We have to separate fix ips, like companies have sometimes, and dynamic ips given by the provider to private persons, but i dont know how to realize. --Cy 14:54, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- No, the US supports both Dynamic and Static IP addresses. This IP happens to be an open proxy. The block stays. --CharitwoTalk 16:55, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] User Blocks
IMO Admins can block users for what ever duration in necessery this sends a clear message to vandels that their persistent bad behavor will not be tolerated
--Chip2007 20:37 19 April 2008 (GMT)
Are you asking to be blocked? I thought it would be more appropriate to send you a warning first. --CharitwoTalk 19:41, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Misunderstanding
orange juise was not copied from wikipedia
--User:Chip2007 20:48 19 April 2008 (GMT)
- Then take it to a mini article, and spelled correctly for that matter. stop creating off topic mainspace articles that will be deleted on sight. --CharitwoTalk 19:50, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
