[edit] Index of MiniArticles
On the Search Wikia homepage, there is no easy way of find lists of MiniArticles. Can you not simply provide access to a full index as in Wikipedia? And it would also be useful to have categories specifically for MiniArticles. Has anything been done about this? I also suggest the Ceetron ad below should be deleted.Ipigott 14:05, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Where's the line that separates spam or advertising a website/blog from defining that website/blog, provided the relationship between a search and a website is unequivocal. Take, for instance, The Development Gateway, the website/project from The World Bank. IMHO, it's worth defining it with a MiniArticle. But will it be banned as spam? What's the purpose of including images? Won't be notable for most Miniarticles, and i have already seen some company uploading its logo. --Balinny 21:47, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] No camel case
Please avoid camel case -- "MiniArticle". Please write "mini article" or "Mini Article". Camel case is marketing corn syrup. --Rogerhc 22:48, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia?
Why are we recreating a global content base here - why not just take the first few lines of a wiki page? Jhwilliams 20:33, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Because the first few lines of a Wikipedia article are usually not useful to a searcher, although some may be. A link to any relevant Wikipedia articles can be added using Template:wp. Fred Talk 02:03, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Disambiguation/Desambiguación/Apartigilo
| es | ¿Hay alguna guía para desambiguaciones? Lo digo por el artículo Mini:Cromañón. |
| en | There is some guidelines for disambiguations? I ask it because the article Mini:Cromañón. |
| eo | Ĉu Wikia havas io konsileto per apartigiloj? Mi demandas pro la artikolo Mini:Cromañón. |
- Well, the first thing to note is that Cromañón is Portuguese for Mini:Cromagnon, which is also spelled Cro-Magnon. I suggest inclusion of any use of Cromañón which anyone is likely to be searching for the article Cromañón in the main name space with a brief introduction to the issues in Mini:Cromañón. I'm not quite sure how we handle mini articles, or articles, in different languages, but I think it is with a suffix like Mini:Cromañón/pt But note http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cro-Magnon which uses Cro-Magnon rather than Cromañón. - It's not Portuguese, it's Spanish; there's 0 result of google:"cromañón" url:.br and google:"cromañón" url:.pt. As I know, only in Spanish we say "cromañón" (including the acute accent). But it can refer to w:es:Hombre de Cro-Magnon (w:Cro-Magnon) or w:es:República Cromañón (w:República Cromagnon nightclub fire).Eloy 12:43, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
